Welcome to the Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my special guest is Dr. Timothy Dailey and we’re talking about his new book The Paranormal Conspiracy: The Truth about Ghosts, Aliens and Mysterious Beings (Chosen Books, 2015).

About The Book:
Teenage vampires. UFO sightings. Alien invasions. Ghost stories. The zombie apocalypse.

You don't have to look far to see that today's pop culture is becoming increasingly dominated by paranormal beings. Topics that once belonged to the fringes of the occult world have suddenly found their way onto every television channel and magazine cover.

What does this mean for Christians? How do we respond to a culture saturated with the paranormal?

In this compelling book, Dr. Timothy Dailey explores the counterfeit spirituality of the paranormal world. By confronting these phenomena head-on, Dailey exposes the dark truth behind these tales.

In a world that fears an uncertain future, Dailey offers hope: a way back to the one true source of spiritual connection. The only one that can satisfy our souls.

About The Author:
Dr. Timothy Dailey is a Christian scholar and bestselling author whose books have sold more than 300,000 copies. He holds an M.A. from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. from Marquette University. Dr. Dailey has senior-level research and writing experience with major Christian ministries, including working in the public policy arena in Washington, D.C., as well as writing and editing commentaries for a nationally syndicated radio program. Welcome to the Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my special guest is Justin Holcomb and we’re talking about his new book God Made All of Me: A Book to Help Children Protect Their Bodies (New Growth Press, 2015).

About The Book:
God Made Every Part of You!

It's easy to convey the message to children that their bodies or particular parts of their bodies are shameful. This misconception fuels confusion, embarrassment, and secrecy, and often prevents children from recognizing or reporting sexual abuse.

God Made All of Me is a simply-told, beautifully-illustrated story to help families talk about these sensitive issues with two- to eight-year-old children. Because the private parts of our bodies are private, the home is the ideal environment where a child should learn about his or her body and how it should be treated by others.

God Made All of Me starts from the fundamental truth that God created everything and applies that truth to kids and their bodies. It equips parents to talk with both boys and girls about their bodies and to help them understand the difference between the appropriate and inappropriate touch of others. God Made All of Me allows families to build a first line of defense against sexual abuse in the safety of their own homes.

God Made All of Me is the first children's book written by Rid of My Disgrace authors Justin and Lindsey Holcomb. Parents of young children themselves, the Holcombs regularly counsel victims of sexual abuse and are profoundly aware of the dangers kids face. Their simple and relatable story, designed to help children protect their bodies, will be an important resource for every family with young children.

  • Simple, relatable story for two- to eight-year-old children, designed to help them protect their bodies.
  • Includes colorful, age-appropriate illustrations.
  • Conveys a clear message that God made every part of the human body and that every part is, therefore, good (the doctrine of creation.
  • Gently opens the conversation about sexual abuse that every family needs to have.
  • Facilitates open conversations about appropriate and inappropriate touch.
  • Overcomes confusion, secrecy, and embarrassment about bodies with truth.

About The Author:
Justin Holcomb, PhD, is an Episcopal priest and professor of theology and Christian thought at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminary. He is the author of On the Grace of God, Know the Heretics, and Know the Creeds and Councils, as well as the coauthor of Is It My Fault? and Rid of My Disgrace. Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my special guests are Billy and Willow Sprague and we’ll be discussing their album Songs in the Key of Awe.

About The Album:
A true family affair from start to finish, Songs in the Key of Awe featuresvocals by Sprague's daughter Willow, his son Wyatt on djiembe, photography by his wife Kellie and joyful encouragement from their young son Sawyer. Sprague also tapped the formidable talents of guitar virtuosos Phil Keaggy, Dave Beegle and Dan Dugmore along with respected Nashville producer Jim Frazier to create an unforgettable listening experience.

While Songs in the Key of Awe is jam-packed with great songs, Sprague encourages listeners to experience the whole album from start to finish. "From the opening sound of a bird taking flight to the final notes of "Reflection in A," the songs, pace and spaces are intended to create room to 'breathe deep of His grace' as one song lyric puts it," he muses. "I pray this music helps amplify your awe of the Lord, His creation and redeeming touch on your own grace story."

One thing so gratifying to Sprague about Songs is the Key of Awe is that the music was created "not primarily as an artist," as he puts it, "but as a worshipper and worship leader of a local community of faith, doing life together. Another community of faith through Kickstarter, helped make it happen. To me that's beautiful."

About Billy Sprague:
Multi-Dove Award winner Billy Sprague is an accomplished songwriter, performer, author and recording artist. His songs, which include the classic "Via Dolorosa," have been recorded by such well-known artists as Sandi Patti, Debbie Boone, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Susan Ashton and John McDermot.

Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my special guest is Cheri Keaggy and we’re discussing her new album No Longer My Own.

About The Album:
Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Cheri Keaggy has been hard at work in the studio producing and recording her ninth album, No Longer My Own. The project releases to retail on Friday, August 7, 2015 from Psalm 91 Records and Elevate Entertainment.

No Longer My Own seeks to embolden fellow sojourners of the faith to live more fearlessly for Christ. Perhaps that sentiment is best expressed in the album's title cut, a song inspired by the "Covenant Prayer" popularized by John Wesley.

Listeners can look forward to such vertically oriented songs of celebration as "Lucky To Be Breathing Your Air," prayerful petitions like "Jesus, One and Only," poignant ballads like "You Go Before," and the powerful anthem, "Overcome," a response to recent news reports of believers facing persecution, even unto death, and the increase of moral decay in our nation. She also enlists her uncle, Grammy nominee and Dove Award winner Phil Keaggy, who contributes a jubilant ukulele track in the lighthearted Scripture song, "Whatever is True (Phil. 4:8)."

Keaggy employed the innovative Kickstarter crowd-source business model to fund the project, joining such high profile Christian recording artists as Carman, Shaun Groves, John Schlitt, Five Iron Frenzy and Thousand Foot Krutch, who also used the outside-the-box service to fund recent projects. Keaggy is no stranger to the business model, having successfully employed Kickstarter to raise nearly $25,000 to fund her 2012 release, So I Can Tell.

While Keaggy admits to being both humbled and excited by the number of doors that opened for ministry through concerts, church services, women's events, TV appearances, interviews, and radio airplay as a direct result of So I Can Tell, she insists the story is far from over. With a quiver full of new songs burning in her soul, Keaggy prays No Longer My Own will inspire and embolden fellow saints to live more fearlessly for Christ.

About The Artist:
Cheri Keaggy began her career as a worship leader at a small church in Southern California before recording her debut album on Sparrow Records, Child of the Father, in 1994. Honored with a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year, Keaggy has gone on to record eight additional albums, resulting in nine No. 1 songs, three Dove Award nominations and a Dove Award win. After more than two decades in music, her ministry has expanded to include speaking engagements as well. Keaggy's upcoming project, No Longer My Own, is slated for an August 7 release from Psalm 91 Records and Elevate Entertainment.

Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my special guest is Daniel R. Hyde and we’ll be talking about his book A Well-Ordered Church: Laying a Foundation for a Vibrant Church (EP Books, 2015).

About The Book:
"Jesus is my personal Lord and Savior."

No phrase captures better the ethos of modern evangelical Christianity. And while this is absolutely necessary for a Christian to believe and profess, what typically gets lost in much evangelical thinking and acting is Jesus’ church. This book seeks to present to evangelical Christians the basics of ecclesiaology, or, the biblical doctrine of the church. The authors say in these pages, “This is a church, in the most basic and fundamental of ways. No matter what view of church government you may hold, the goal is to draw you back to the big principles of Scripture to help you understand the church s identity, authority, ecumenicity, and activity.”

About The Author:
Rev. Daniel R. Hyde--"Pastor Danny" to the members of Oceanside United Reformed Church--has an eclectic past: he was baptized Roman Catholic, was converted in a Foursquare church, attended an Assemblies of God college where he flirted spiritually with Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism before he discovered the riches of the historic Protestant and Reformed Christian faith. All of this prepared him to minister in the diverse religious culture of Southern California. In 2000, while still in seminary, Danny planted the Oceanside United Reformed Church (United Reformed Churches in North America) in Carlsbad/Oceanside, California. Fifteen years on later he continues as pastor and is married with four children. He and his wife enjoy showing hospitality in their home for meals, prayer, and to study the Word.

Pastor Danny has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Vanguard University, Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Westminster Seminary California, and a Master of Theology (Th.M.) from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. His Th.M. thesis was entitled, "Of Great Importance and of High Concernment: The Liturgical Theology of John Owen (1616-1683)," and was read by Drs. Joel Beeke, Derek W. H. Thomas, and Mark Jones. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my special guest is Jeremy Walker and we’ll be talking about his book Passing Through: Pilgrim Life in the Wilderness.

About The Book:
As twenty-first-century Christians, we must relate to the world, but the question is, how do we relate to it? Some Christians are scared, others are simply bewildered, and still others capitulate to the spirit of the age. In Passing Through: Pilgrim Life in the Wilderness, Pastor Jeremy Walker presents the biblical perspective that Christians are pilgrims passing through this fallen world who must cultivate the spirit of holy separation alongside holy engagement as they serve Christ in all their interactions. Unless we embrace this identity, we will lose our way. Reminding us that we need “the Word of God as our map and the Spirit of Christ as our compass,” Pastor Walker clearly presents principles for holy engagement with the world and separation from it for pilgrims on their way home, seeking to glorify the God of their salvation every step of the way.

About the Author:
Jeremy Walker is a pastor of Maidenbower Baptist Church in Crawley, England, author of Life in Christ and The Brokenhearted Evangelist, coauthor of A Portrait of Paul: Identifying a True Minister of Christ.

Welcome to the Shaun Tabatt Show! Today my guest is William Boekestein and we’ll be talking about his book Ulrich Zwingli from EP Books’ Bitesize Biographies series.

About the Book:

“Ulrich Zwingli of Zurich, a great reformer overshadowed by two greater, Luther and Calvin, should be much better known than he is. This well-informed and workmanlike book will surely make him so.”
-J.I. Packer

“Combining the imagination employed in his engaging children’s books, Bill brings the careful scholarship of a theologian to shine a brilliant light on the complexities and conflicts of the ministry of Ulrich Zwingli. With warmth and pastoral appreciation, he demonstrates the intense practical implications of grappling with the issues that Zwingli faced, and how Christians can gain perspective for life and ministry in the church today.”
-Douglas Bond
