Michael Williams returns to the show once again to share about his latest book. This time around we're discussing Hidden Prophets of the Bible: Finding the Gospel in Hosea through Malachi (David C. Cook, 2017).

About the Book:  From an expert on Bible translation and interpretation comes a revealing look at the Minor Prophets. Michael Williams, PhD, takes readers on a journey from Hosea to Malachi, uncovering significant messages about Jesus and the gospel.

Making these often overlooked books accessible, Williams gives insight into each of the minor prophets, exploring

  • Little-known facts about the prophet
  • The gospel according to the prophet
  • Why the prophet should matter to readers

Though the Minor Prophets of the Old Testament may seem obscure, readers will discover the significance that lies within these short books and how the relevance of these books will help grow their faith. Questions prompt readers to reflect on what each prophet’s message means for their own faith.

About Michael Williams:  Michael Williams (PhD, University of Pennsylvania) is Johanna K. and Martin J. Wyngaarden Senior Professor of Old Testament Studies at Calvin Theological Seminary and a member of the NIV Committee on Bible Translation. He is the author of Deception in GenesisThe Prophet and His MessageBasics of Ancient UgariticThe Biblical Hebrew Companion for Bible Software Users, and How to Read the Bible through the Jesus Lens, and editor and contributor of Mishneh Todah. His passion is to equip students with knowledge of the Old Testament and its languages so that they may grow in their comprehension and appreciation of redemptive history and be adequately prepared to promote and defend the faith through word and action. Michael resides in Grand Rapids, MI, with his wife, Dawn.

I'm honored to have Judd Brannon on the show today! We discuss the backstory of how he got interested in making movies, what a director actually does, and most importantly his new film Champion. This powerful new movie will immerse you in the supercharged world of dirt track racing. When main characters Sean (Andrew Cheney) and Jack's (Gary Graham) lives collide, they form an unexpected bond and go on a journey of healing together. Core themes you'll encounter in the film are forgiveness, fatherhood, and foster care.

About the Film:  In the supercharged world of dirt track racing, a single mistake causes the lives of two men to change forever. One must fight for his family, the other must fight to forgive.

Dirt track racer Sean Weathers was at the top of his game...an unstoppable career, scores of fans, and an adoring daughter. When a rivalry with another racer turns personal, the ego that propelled him to success causes a tragedy, sending his life into a tailspin.

Jack Reed was attempting to make up for past mistakes. He had prospered as a businessman but failed as a family man. In a sudden turn of events, his chances for reconciliation are ripped from his grasp.

Sean and Jack's lives collide, and an unexpected bond forms between them. Working through a painful journey of healing together, they each learn about second chances and the true freedom only forgiveness can offer.

About Judd Brannon:  With over 20 years of video production experience, Judd Brannon is excited to produce CHAMPION. With a vision for bringing stories to life, Judd has had the opportunity to direct and produce multiple video projects. Judd’s initial success came with the music video FOR FREEDOM, featuring the music of Grammy-nominated artist, Avalon, and was selected to be a part of Sean Hannity’s Freedom Tour.
